Whether you're new to the world of angling or looking to refine your skills, this workshop is designed to provide you with the foundational knowledge and practical techniques needed to embark on your fly fishing journey with confidence.

The workshop starts in the classroom laying groundwork, from understanding the aquatic insects that fish feed on, to mastering the art of tying knots, and casting with precision. From there we move outdoors, where you'll tackle the basics of casting on land. Then, we'll venture onto the stream, where everything you've learned will come together as you apply your newfound knowledge in real-time fishing scenarios. You’ll learn the essential techniques, hone your casting skills, and discover the secrets of reading water.

So, whether you're drawn to the tranquility of casting in a classic Catskill setting, or the challenge of hooking a wild trout in storied waters, this workshop will equip you with the tools and confidence to pursue your passion for fly fishing with skill and enthusiasm.

All participants will receive $25.00 back in in-store credit upon completion of the class. 

 

Instructor: Craig Buckbee

Craig has close to forty years experience on the Delaware system. His extensive knowledge of the ecosystems in this area showcase his appreciation for both angling and the environment associated with fly fishing. He is an FFI-Master Casting Instructor, NYS licensed guide and on staff at the Wulff School of Fly Fishing. He has competed nationally with the ACA (American Casting Association) in both distance and accuracy. Craig has travelled widely for fishing adventures. Add his enthusiasm to all this and you’ll know why he is a respected and sought after instructor - teaching students the basics of fly fishing as well as fine tuning the advanced caster’s mechanics.
