Hare's Ear Wet

Tried and true since the 1800s, the Hare's Ear Wet remains a great searching pattern in both before and after mayfly and caddis hatches. It is just as effective when targeting both insects in their emergence stages, when they are trapped in the surface film, and an easy meal for hungry trout!

Recipe:

Hook: Mustad 3906B or equivalent. 

Thread: Uni 8/0 or 6/0 Tan

Tail: Brown hen

Dubbing: Hare's mask with spikey guard hairs from the ear

Rib: Small Flat gold tinsel

Throat: Dubbing picked out from a beard

Wing: Mallard quill slips
