This series of maps were created out of a desire to explore less well known spots in the Catskills for fly-fishing. Since much of the land in New York State is privately owned, finding locations where one can legally access is particularly important to the outdoor enthusiasts. And we have come up with a solution using the latest geospatial data and designed a map that overlays all the information that will help us explore the region.
While the information on the map deploys the latest geospatial datasets, graphically it is designed with timeless cartographic standards. All the graphic elements are carefully crafted to ensure the greatest legibility.
Hydrographic information compiled from National Hydrography Dataset

Fishing access points, forest boundaries, and trail data compiled from NYDEC data
